The BBC has reported that the coalition government has delivered an extra 103,000 apprenticeships over the last year, twice as many as expected. The news has been welcomed by the Federation of Small Businesses.
This is really good news and shows the positive and persuasive influence that Liberal Democrat Ministers are having on their Conservative counterparts.
But with the continued recession and record levels of youth unemployment
particularly in London Boroughs, such as Lewisham, more still needs to be done to ensue that our young people have a successful and prosperous future.
Tom Brake reveals that the Coalition Government has created over 28,000 apprenticeships in London last year an increase of over 12,000 on the previous year. He said “It is of huge value to our young people and to the businesses in our area…With every £1 of Government money delivering a return of some £40 to the wider economy, this is an excellent investment for London and its young people.”
